Building Connections with Art: “I BELIEVE IN US.” – How this simple prayer and daily intention changed my family.

“I BELIEVE IN US.” - How this simple prayer and daily intention changed my family.

What do you believe in?

When I ask myself that question, the word “family” immediately comes to mind. My family is my main priority in life. My family is what matters when everything else in the world feels scary and out of my control. When life is challenging, I know I can come to my family for support. I know them. I love them. I believe in them.

This sign was inspired by a time when I learned that knowing and acknowledging your beliefs can be truly life-changing and empowering. A few years ago one of my amazing daughters became so overwhelmed by anxiety that she found herself unable to attend school and function as she always had. I felt completely out of control with worry about my daughter and didn’t know how to help her.

I created this sign to hang in my home and remind myself of my beliefs.

With some good therapy and the support of family and friends, I’m happy to say that my daughter and my family learned how to manage and control the anxiety that had taken our life by storm and we are all better and stronger because of our journey. I learned some important lessons during that time, one of which was that reflecting on my beliefs on a regular basis and focussing on the things that truly matter in life strengthened me in ways that I could have never imagined.

This reflection is now a part of my daily routine. I created this sign to hang in my home and remind myself and my family of what matters and how much they all mean to me. I wanted the message and the graphics to be simple and pure and full of hope and positivity. Reading the words makes me feel strong, focused and happy.

I’m excited to share this sign and what I’ve learned with anyone who wants to gain a sense of control in their life or share their beliefs with the people they love. (To see an example of how I used this piece in a gallery wall display, check out my totally free “Gallery Wall Challenge” here.)

How does identifying your beliefs affect your life? If you have a story of how thinking in a positive way and reflecting on your beliefs created positive change, I’d love to hear it in the comments below.
